Three Students Are Awarded Nagoya University-JAGAM Undergraduate Scholarship

Japan Graduates’ Association of Malaysia (JAGAM), in collaboration with Nagoya University, has selected three outstanding Malaysian students who displayed remarkable academic achievement and extra-curricular participation for its inaugural Nagoya University-JAGAM Undergraduate Scholarship.

The three scholars, Ms Ho Chui Ping of Inti International University, Mr Tan Zhi Liang of Penang Matriculation College (Kolej Matrikulasai Pulau Pinang) and Mr Wong Jun Lin of Kuala Lumpur Chong Hwa Independent High School will each be awarded a 500,000 yen scholarship per annum to support their living expenses with full tuition fee waiver and an air ticket to Nagoya, Japan.

The award ceremony was held on 29th May in Kuala Lumpur and was witnessed by Ms Harriet Ng, Associate Director of Admission, Nagoya University and Ms Jeannette Teow, Education Counsellor of Japan Students Services Organisation, Kuala Lumpur.

Ms Ho Chui Ping will pursue Social Science and would like to promote economic development in developing countries upon completion of her study.

Mr Tan Zhi Liang’s dream of creating an eco-friendly automobile that will not trigger any road accidents will soon come true when he begins his university life in automotive engineering.

Mr Wong Jun Lin will study biological science in Nagoya University where he aims to create genetically modified organisms that could transfer vaccines and antibodies to human when they come to contact with human being.

The scholars are under the Global 30 program where all the courses are conducted in English.
